Salvation Army Bringing Thanksgiving Dinner To Shut-Ins

As many of us prepare to be with family and friends for Thanksgiving, there are hundreds of people living in the metro area who are alone and unable to cook for themselves.

Fortunately, the Salvation Army has many volunteers who are prepared to make sure those folks get fed. They will arrive at the Kroc Center in south Omaha early Thursday morning to begin preparing about 1,400 meals that will be delivered to those in need.

Volunteers from churches and community centers will join the Boy Scouts on an assembly line to pack up the food.

Recipients will enjoy a warm meal of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, dinner roll, fruit, and cookies.
