Man Arrested For Construction Site Thefts

On Sunday, November 19th, Douglas County Sheriff's deputies saw a stolen 2002 Dodge Dakota truck parked in front of 14465 Gilder Avenue.  Deputies searched for suspects since there were several homes under construction in the immediate area.  They found the front door of one home unlocked and they entered the home.  They found 39 year old Jason M. John Sr. hiding in the basement.  He was taken into custody.

Celebrity Homes was contacted.  Deputies recovered tools removed from HVAC equipment in one of the homes.  Celebrity Homes filed a number of reports in the past regarding thefts of appliances, HVAC equipment and construction tools.

During the investigation, deputies learned that John Sr. and a known juvenile drove out to the area in a stolen truck and John Sr. was disconnecting HVAC equipment to a home.  He admitted he took items from construction dumpsters and various tools which were left around construction sites in the past.
