Former NU President Steps Down As Chancellor At CUNY

Former University of Nebraska President J.B. Milliken has announced that he is stepping down as Chancellor of the City University of New York.

Milliken has served as Chancellor of the largest urban university system for over three years. Prior to his time at CUNY, Milliken was NU President for ten years from 2004 to 2014.

The Nebraska native told the New York Daily News on Tuesday that a throat cancer diagnosis earlier this year has made him reevaluate how he spends his time. Milliken will finish out the 2017-2018 academic year at CUNY, and may remain on the payroll there as a professor. The university will begin looking for a replacement in January.
