Officials at Buffett Magnet Middle School in Omaha says a student brought a gun to school on Monday morning.
In an email sent to the parents, school officials say a student alerted administrators that another student had a gun.
Buffett administrators immediately investigated and located the suspected student and the gun and contacted Omaha Police. "Please be assured that this was an isolated incident and no students or staff were in danger during this incident," Principal Anthony Clark-Kazmarek stated in the e-mail.
He says administrators are working with the family of the student who brought the gun to school and appropriate disciplinary action is being taken. It's not known if the gun was loaded.
Buffett Magnet is located near 141st and Larimore Avenue.
