Buckle Up - Special Enforcement Planned

The Nebraska State Patrol is again taking part in the national Click It or Ticket special enforcement to promote seatbelt use.

The State Patrol's campaign runs in conjunction with many local law enforcement agencies throughout Nebraska.  The cost for the extra enforcement is from an $18,000 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation - Highway Safety Office.

“Thanksgiving week is a busy time for our roads in Nebraska,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “We’ve seen record numbers of Nebraska motorists using seatbelts already this year. We urge all drivers and passengers to buckle-up and practice safe driving for their Thanksgiving travels.”

in 2017, 76% of the people killed in car accidents on Nebraska roads were not wearing seatbelts.

The special enforcement will run from Monday, November 20th through Sunday, November 26th.
