The Nebraska Department of Transportation reports there were 12 traffic related deaths during the month of October, 2017.
Statistics show that 12 of the fatalities occurred in 11 crashes. Four of the eight vehicle occupants killed were not wearing seat belts. Three of the victims were pedestrians, one a motorcyclist and one resulted with a vehicle crash with a train.
The Department reports that 106 of the 140 vehicle occupants killed this year were not wearing seat belts.
