Former Nebraska State Patrol Investigator Indicted On Drug Charges

A former Nebraska State Patrol investigator previously accused of theft is now facing more charges.

Christopher Kober, of Bellevue, is facing two charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and one charge of Acquiring Drugs by Fraud/Diversion.

Kober is accused of stealing prescription drugs while on assignment with the Drug Enforcement Administration during Drug Take Back events between January 2016 and March of 2017. Court documents state that Kober had accumulated more than 1,800 units of Acetaminophen Hydrocodone Bitartrate, Oxycodone Hydrocholoride, Acetaminophen Oxycodone, Morphine Sulfate and Fentanyl. Indictment documents show that the drugs were never entered into evidence, and accuse Kober of taking the drugs and hiding them in his home.

In May, Kober was arrested for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property valued at more than $5,000 after an investigation into stolen State Patrol equipment. Kober's wife allegedly found numerous cans of ammunition in the couple's home and contacted Bellevue Police. At that time Kober was placed on suspension, and was eventually fired in June.
