A massive fire has destroyed a 10-thousand square foot home near 182nd and F Street. The fire broke out around 1:00 a.m. and found flames shooting from the home that was up for sale.
Several hours later, the remains of the home continued to smolder. Firefighters stayed outside the house, taking a defensive approach to battle the flames.
There was no one inside at the time and no reports of injuries. A neighbor tweeted that horses on the property are fine.
The two story home sits on nearly 10 acres and was listed for $1.9 million. The property includes a horse barn with stables, an indoor pool and a greenhouse.
Boys Town and Waterloo firefighters provided assistance to Omaha, in part because they struggled to find a water supply at the scene of the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
