Omaha Police have identified the man found dead in a car outside of the Northeast Precinct early Thursday morning.
Authorities identify the man as 29 year old Julio Cesar-Ortega. Investigators say they believe Cesar-Ortega was assaulted at another location and drove to the precinct at 30th and Taylor, where he died inside of the car.
An officer returning to the precinct discovered the man around 1:00 AM after noticing a car sitting in the east parking lot. Fire and Rescue crews were called to the scene, but Cesar-Ortega died from his injuries.
Cesar-Ortega's death is the 25th homicide for the City of Omaha this year. He leaves behind a wife and daughter.
The investigation is ongoing, and police ask anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP or the Omaha Police Departments Homicide division at 444-5656.
