Matt Walsh has been re-elected as the mayor of Council Bluffs. Walsh received 3,477 votes and defeated Pottawattamie County Supervisor Scott Belt, who received 2,656 votes.
"We have a great community that I'm proud to be the mayor of. I'm proud to be a coworker with 480 great employees of the City of Council Bluffs who represent the citizens they work for everyday," Walsh told 6 News. " It's been a true privilege to have been the mayor for four years and I look forward to four more."
In Carter Lake, Ron Cumberledge defeated Russ Kramer in the race for mayor.
