Former Bellevue Couple Killed In Texas Shooting

Sunday's tragedy in Texas has a link to the metro area.  Bob and Shani Corrigan lived in Bellevue for several years and before moving to Texas. They were among the 26 people killed in Sunday's mass shooting at the Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church.

Bob Corrigan served in the Air Force and was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. When he retired two years ago, Bob and his wife Shani returned to the small Texas town where his family had roots.  They were active members of the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs.  Bob was a worship leader.

During their years in Bellevue, the Corrigans were active members of the Chandler Acres Baptist Church. Pastor Dan Wills told 6 News: "They were good people and they impacted us all."

Wills said the Corrigans freely shared their faith and love with their neighbors here in the Metro. "You couldn't help but be impacted by their tenacity to love people."

The Corrigans leave behind two sons and several grandchildren.
