Omaha Police say man was killed and another wounded in a shooting on the North Freeway near Hamilton Street Sunday afternoon.
Police say two cars were southbound on 75 when shots were fired from one of the vehicles. The targeted vehicle crashed into the median and the vehicle with the shooter fled the scene.
21 year old Xavier Bass was taken to the hospital with CPR in progress and later died. The other man, 24 year old Marcus Eiland, was wounded and transported to the hospital. He is expected to recover.
Highway 75 was shut down between Lake and Hamilton while police conducted their investigation. Police do not have a description of the other vehicle or the gunman.
