There was a lot of excitement and a few nervous moments on Friday as nearly 30 four and five year old girls auditioned for a chance to be onstage during the Broadway musical "Waitress" at the Orpheum Theatre.
Two of the girls will be cast in the production, which will run from December 12-17. Susana Wolk is the Assistant Director for "Waitress" and tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB the two girls selected will alternate each night.
"They've got to be able to hold their own amid singing, dancing, choreography, scenery moving and pies flying in the air," Wolk says. "It's a lot for a four or five year old girl.
They will appear as "Lulu" in the show's final scene, the daughter of the main character. Each child auditioning on Friday recited one line. The two actresses will be revealed at the end of November.
