Seven Teens Arrested After Carjacking, Pursuit

Seven teenagers have been arrested after Omaha Police say after they stole a vehicle and led officers on a pursuit through Omaha and Council Bluffs.

Officers were called to 18th and Center around 5:00 Wednesday evening to investigate a carjacking. A woman was driving a white Dodge Ram when two male suspects forced her out of the vehicle and took off in the truck.

Around 7 p.m. officers observed the vehicle at 13th and Martha. They tried to stop the pickup, but the driver fled. The Able-1 police helicopter took over the pursuit and observed the vehicle proceeding into Council Bluffs. 

Council Bluffs officers and Pottawattamie County deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued to flee, crossing back into Omaha at the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

Able-1 advised that seven occupants exited the vehicle near 20th and L Street.  Police were eventually able to arrest five boys and two girls.   

A 14 and 15 year old male were booked for robbery and obstructing.  A 17 and 14 year old male were street released for unlawful occupancy and obstructing.   Another 17 year old boy was cited for unlawful occupancy and possession of les than an ounce of marijuana.  The 15 and 16 year old girls were cited for obstructing.
