Driver Involved In Fatal DUI Was Possibly Sexually Assaulted Before Crash

An Omaha woman accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a 15 year old girl near Louisville last month may have been drugged and sexually assaulted prior to the crash.

Paige Seaton's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit the night of October 4th when she crossed the center line on Highway 50 and hit another car, killing Alexandra Linscott.

Seaton's lawyer James Martin Davis tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB that his client went to a man's house in Louisville to pick him up for an Alcoholic's Anonymous meeting before the crash. "She was going to AA regularly and he couldn't drive because of the legal troubles he had, with respect to drinking. She was gonna pick him up and they were gonna go to AA together. Well they never made it."

Davis says a picture depicting the alleged assault was sent out on her social media app Snapchat. The picture reportedly showed Seaton with no pants on and scratches on her legs. "They didn't go to AA. There was apparently drinking. She doesn't remember what happened after she got there and somehow she sent out this photo of herself."

Seaton's parents saw the photo prior to the accident, believed it to be a distress call and contacted authorities. "Her parents shared that with the authorities. They called in Cass County, where this guy lives, and they're conducting an investigation now."

Davis says when Seaton arrived at the hospital after the crash, she told a nurse about the sexual assault. He says the sexual assault claim has been investigated since that night.  "They did a rape kit. We've asked that toxicology test be run on the blood. I've consented for Cass County to talk to her. I've also consented for them to look at the contents of her phone, do a dump of her phone."

Although the alleged assault and drugging are being looked into, Davis says they are not using the investigation as a way to get Seaton off the hook. "We're not using that as an excuse. We're not saying that she's not guilty as charged because this may have happened."

Seaton remains on house arrest as she recovers from her injuries and awaits her next court appearance later this month.
