Sarpy County authorities say a man captured on camera stealing a package from a front porch near 156th and Giles on Wednesday is now behind bars.
The sheriff's department received the video, taken from a doorbell video camera, showing a man stealing a package that was left on the porch of the person who ordered it.
Due to the clarity of the video, investigators received several tips on the identity of the thief. On Thursday the sheriff's department also received a tip that the person was staying at the Red Carpet Inn near 144th and I-80.
Deputies and investigators made contact with 31 year old Roland Johnson Jr. In the motel room, several stolen packages were found and will be returned to their proper owners.
Mr. Johnson will be booked in to the Sarpy County Jail and will be charged with 5 counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking $0-$500.
