Two people have died after an accident near 120th and Giles Wednesday afternoon.
La Vista Police Chief Bob Lausten says a concrete truck rolled over onto another vehicle just after 12:00. "A fully loaded concrete truck was negotiating a right hand turn off Giles to head south, tipped over on a car that was waiting at the intersection to make a turn, crushing the vehicle underneath.
There were two people in the vehicle that Lausten says did not survive. "The vehicle that was crushed by the concrete truck, we have two passengers that were in there. So we have two people that are fatalities in this crash."
Lausten says the first crews on the scene tried to help the victims in the crushed car. "Crews from the tow truck company and fire department attempted to administer and determine if anyone survived, but there was no way to get to them."
Authorities are working to identify the two people in the car. The driver of the concrete truck was taken to the hospital as a precaution. The investigation continues.
