Sarpy County investigators are searching for a sexual assault suspect who attacked a woman in her home Wednesday night.
Sheriff Jeff Davis says the woman was sleeping at her home in the area of 156th and Giles around 11:30 p.m. when the masked man came into her house. Davis said the suspect was armed with a gun. He robbed and then sexually assaulted the woman, who was alone at the time.
The woman told detectives the man was in her home for nearly an hour before he fled.
"We want people to know this is the time to be safe. We believe this man is dangerous, obviously armed," Davis said Thursday. "Lock your doors, make sure your windows are closed and locked. Garage doors closed at night. If you can be with someone else other than being alone out walking - we would encourage you to do that."
Davis said deputies found no signs of forced entry. The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s or 50s.
