A man has died from his injuries after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing an Omaha street Thursday morning.
Sergeant Doug Klein tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB that 79 year old Carl Schneider was crossing at the intersection of 34th and L from south to north around 6:20 when a pickup truck crested the hill and struck the man.
Schneider was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead. Eastbound L street was closed for about 2 1/2 hours during the investigation. Klein says it doesn't appear the pick up driver was speeding.
