Interest is growing in a brand new community pavilion that will open Wednesday night at the Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park along the Missouri River in Council Bluffs.
Mayor Matt Walsh says the ribbon cutting isn't until Wednesday night, but several events have already been booked. "Just this week I had four different events booked there. Because of the newness, I think it's obviously getting a lot of attention, but we expect that it will be booked on a regular basis."
Walsh says anyone in the metro area will be able to host a variety of indoor and outdoor events in a beautiful setting. "Class reunions, business meetings, family reunions. It overlooks the Missouri River and Omaha skyline."
The space has a full service kitchen and can seat 70-80 people, with an additional 120 on the rooftop patio.
The ribbon cutting is at 7:00 with public tours of the facility and fireworks to follow.
