Sarpy County authorities say no criminal charges will be filed against a man who killed his wife in an accidental shooting earlier this month.
Rescue crews were called to a home near 183rd and Harrison on October 5th found 68-year-old Afton Teague in her kitchen suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Teague was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.
The Sarpy County attorney says Teague was accidentally shot by her husband, who was cleaning a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. He had just returned from a shooting range and believed the gun to be unloaded.
The investigation showed no reckless disregard. The Teague's hade been married 49 years.
