Man Charged In Peru State Student's Death

It has been nearly seven years since Peru State College student Tyler Thomas disappeared.  On Tuesday 36 year old Joshua Keadle was charged with first degree murder in the death of Tyler Thomas.

Keadle was also a student at Peru State at the time.  He is charged with killing the 26 year old Thomas on or about December 3, 2010.

Thomas was reported missing in the early morning hours of December 3, 2010 by two students after she did not return to her dormitory.  Friends searched for her for several hours and were unable to find her. An extensive search conducted by volunteers, law enforcement, and trained dog handlers in the following days was unsuccessful and her body has not been recovered.

The charges were filed against Keadle in Nemaha County District Court by the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office and Nemaha County Attorney’s Office. Keadle is already serving time for the sexual assault of a Fremont girl.

The Nebraska Attorney General’s Office has been appointed as special prosecutors in the case and will be assisted by the Nemaha County Attorney’s office.
