New Look For Old Dundee Theatre

Work continues to restore the old Dundee Theater near 50th and Dodge.  After sitting empty the past three years, Film Streams is giving it a modern update.

“A big goal of the project was to certainly honor the history of the theater, but also prepare it for the future,” said Deputy Director of Film Streams Casey Logan.

There will be several new features to the theatre, concessions, larger lobby and restaurant partner Kitchen Table.  There will also be a lounge and patio area where people can go before or after  a film.

There will also be some original items from the building, including booth seating.  The main theatre will have 300 seats and a micro theatre that will seat 25 people.

The new marquee was hung Wednesday.   The theater is on schedule to open by the first of the year, but Film Streams is $130-thousand short of their $7.5 million fundraising goal.
