Six months after surprising many people in the Omaha mayor's race, Taylor Royal is ready to mount another campaign.
The 27 year old certified public accountant who challenged Mayor Jean Stothert in the April primary, will run for State Treasurer. A formal announcement will be made Thursday at UNO's Thompson Center.
Royal finished third in the mayoral primary. Gretna Republican State Senator John Murante has already announced announced his bid for treasurer. Current Treasurer Don Stenberg cannot run again because of term limits.
