A man crossing the street near downtown Omaha was seriously injured after he was hit by a car near 13th and Pacific around 6:15 Monday morning.
Sergeant Jason Menning tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB says a man in his 40's was crossing the street in the middle of the block when he was struck by a southbound car.
Menning says he suffered serious leg injuries and that he had been drinking prior to being struck.
The car sustained significant damage, but no one in the car was injured. The accident shut down north and southbound traffic just south of downtown for a couple of hours.
