A teenager was killed and two women badly injured in a head-on crash near Springfield, Nebraska Wednesday night.
Emergency crews were called to Highway 50 and Riha Road just after 9 p.m. Sarpy County deputies said a two Ford Fusions collided and a 15 year old passenger in the southbound car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 48 year old woman driving that car was critically injured and airlifted to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. The 22 year old woman driving the northbound Ford Fusion was taken by ambulance to Bergan Mercy Hospital in critical condition.
Sarpy County authorities say the cause of the crash is still under investigation by the sheriff's department and South Metro Crash Response Team.
