Man With Dementia Found Alive In Cornfield

Authorities say a 75-year-old Tekamah man who was reported missing Monday was found alive in a cornfield.

Rolland Metz left Tekamah Health and Rehabilitation facility on his own around 9 a.m. Monday. Metz, who suffers from dementia, was missing for more than 24 hours before he was spotted by OPD Able One Helicopter in a cornfield Tuesday.

Metz was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated.  These pictures were taken by the Able One crew.  Tekamah Police, Burt County Sheriff’s deputies, and Tekamah Volunteer Fire and Rescue crews all helped in the search.
