Metro Community College To Host Inter-Tribal Powwow

Hundreds will flock to Metro Community College's Fort Omaha Campus on Saturday for the 26th Annual Omaha Inter-Tribal Powwow. The powwow will celebrate Native American cultures with dances, music, artistry, oral history and crafts of regional tribes.

A day full of events will start at 1:00 PM with the Grand Entry, with members of a number of area tribes kick off the event. Afterwards there will be events for the entire family including arts, crafts and study circles.

The study circles give attendees an opportunity to learn from Native American experts like Amanda Proctor, of the Osage Tribe and attorney for Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, as well as Kitcki Carroll, executive director of the United South and Eastern Tribes, Inc.

This event is free and open to the public at the Fort Omaha campus from 1:00-7:30 PM. Parking will be available on the north and south ends of campus. For more details visit MCC's website here.
