New Partnership Through Lane Thomas Foundation

The memory of a two year old Omaha boy who was killed last summer while on vacation with his family in Florida is living on through a new partnership with Children's Hospital and Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine.

The Lane Thomas Foundation, established by Matt and Melissa Graves as a way to carry on their son Lane’s legacy, provides support to families involved in and dealing with the difficulties and pressures associated with pediatric organ transplant.

The Foundation works in collaboration with both hospitals to support of their Pediatric Transplant Programs.

The Foundation’s primary goals include relieving families of financial burdens such as lodging, transportation and food, experienced during their long journey and reducing the number of children who die each year because no donor match could be found.

The Foundation launched its website in September, the same month as Lane’s 4th birthday. The new site can be found at www.LaneThomas.org

“Melissa and I created the Foundation in honor of our beautiful boy, Lane, in order to do something positive for other families,” said Matt Graves. “We have been overwhelmed by the support and love we have been shown from across the country. We believe we have found an impactful way for us to help others in similar circumstances and ease some of their burdens so these parents can focus on their child."
