The Omaha Police Department Homicide Unit is looking for a suspect in a deadly overnight shooting at 36th and Lake Street. Officers responded to a radio call of gunshots around 2:19 a.m.
Officers were then sent to the CHI Clinic at 24th and Cuming to investigate a gunshot victim that arrived by a private vehicle. 15 year old Shadaisja Hill was then transported to CUMC Bergan Mercy in critical condition. Police report that Hill later died from injuries as a result of that shooting.
Investigators are attempting to locate the suspect, 25 year old Catessa Barnum in connection to the shooting death. She is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Homicide Unit at 402-444-5656 or Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP. A tip leading to an arrest of a homicide suspect is eligible for a $25,000 reward.
