Mass Evacuation Drill Planned In Downtown Friday

Omaha Police and firefighters will take part in a joint disaster planning exercise Friday afternoon in downtown Omaha. 

More then 3,000 people are expected to participate in the evacuation of the First National Tower and the main Bank building near 16th and Dodge Street and the First National Technology Center, located near 16th and Capitol Avenue.

The Drill will start at 2:00 p.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.  First National employees and tenants will evacuate the buildings and assemble at a nearby location before returning to work.  

During the drill the following streets will be blocked off:

SB 16th and Douglas

EB 17th and Capitol

WB 14th and Capitol

WB 14th and Douglas

NB 15 and Douglas

NB 16th and Douglas
