Two Arrested In Connection With Tobacco Store Robbery

Omaha Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a botched tobacco store robbery that left one of two suspects dead Monday night.

18 year old York Rodriguez (pictured) was arrested Wednesday and booked for 1st degree murder. 18 year old Luis Vargas Aguilar was also arrested and booked for robbery.

Police believe Aguilar was the get-away driver for Rodriguez and Jose Mario Velazquez. Rodriguez is being charged with 1st degree murder because he participated in the commission of a felony by entering the store to rob it.

Police say Rodriguez and Velazquez entered Bizarre Glass near 41st and L Street late Monday night to rob it.  The tobacco store employee told police that he fired a gun at the two suspects, fatally wounding Velazquez.

It's not yet known if the employee will face charges.
