The search is on for for an inmate on work release who walked away from the Community Corrections Center in Omaha on Wednesday.
Department of Corrections officials say 30 year old Nicholas Hupp was being searched at the correction center when he ran out of the facility and left the premises.
Hupp is described as 6 ft. tall, about 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is serving 22 to 39 years on Theft, Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine, Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, Criminal Mischief and Obstructing charges. He began his sentence in 2007 and was paroled in 2012, but found himself back in prison. He became eligible for parole again in July, and has a parole hearing scheduled for November.
