Bellevue Officer Injured In Friday Night Traffic Stop

Bellevue Police are on the look out for a suspect that injured an officer Friday night.

Authorities say the officer was making a routine stop when he found that the driver had a warrant out for his arrest. They say when returning to the suspect's car, the officer put his hand on the door handle and the suspect drove off rapidly. The officer was dragged and injured his wrist.

Police found the car abandoned near 36th and Polk, with the driver no where to be found. They were able to locate the passenger, who said he was not involved in the pursuit. The passenger complied with police, and had no warrant, so he was released.

Authorities have not released any more information at this time about who the suspect may be, or what he is wanted for.
