Emergency shelters in flooded areas of Texas want to keep pets and their people together. Many are arriving carrying their pets in their arms and the shelters are requesting pet carriers, crates, leashes and collars.
The Nebraska Humane Society is asking for your help in making sure the pets and owners are not separated while staying in the shelters. Those wanting to donate those items can drop them off at the Nebraska Humane Society Campus at 8929 Fort Street on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The collection site is at the Center for Humane Education Building.
Crates, carriers, collars and leashes can be gently used or new. Please make sure they are clean. All sizes of crates, collars and leashes, for both dogs and cats, will be accepted.
