A twelve year old boy is in the hospital after colliding with a car while on his bicycle.
Omaha Police say Joseph Rock was riding his bike eastbound on Hartman Avenue around 3:45 Tuesday afternoon when he failed to stop at a stop sign near 114th and Hartman. A Toyota Prius was southbound on 114th, passing Hartman, when its passenger's side was struck by Rock.
Rock was taken to Children's Hospital for treatment of a shoulder and mouth injury. The child was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the Prius had the right-of-way, and was not ticketed. The crash remains under investigation.
