American Idol Bus Rolls Into Omaha

The "American Idol" tour bus rolled into downtown Omaha on a foggy Tuesday morning as hundreds of potential contestants lined up for their chance to become a star.

The signing competition returns next year to ABC.  Anna Lessick is a 22 year old music teacher at Avery Elementary School in Bellevue and was given the day off to come and tryout for the show.

"I've never auditioned for any kind of show before and so i'm really excited.  I'm a little nervous because I don't really know what to expect."  Lessick sang a portion of the Beatles "Let It Be" for NewsRadio 1110 KFAB.

Also in line was 16 year old opera singer Sarah Koca of Lincoln.   "I've shocked a few people.  They were surprised when I was ten years old coming up and singing opera."

23 year old Joemari Felarca of Indianola, Iowa, was at the front of line after arriving around 3:40 Tuesday morning.  He is a huge fan of Mariah Carey and sang a portion of her hit "Hero" for NewsRadio 1110 KFAB.  "This is my first audition.  This is really my dream since I was a kid.  I realy want to be an American Idol."

All of the potential contestants will sing for producers along Lewis and Clark Landing until 5:00 Tuesday.  Auditions are open to anyone from 15 to 28 years old.

Registrations will be taken until 5:00 and producers will stay as long as needed to hear the contestants audition.
