Lancaster County Treasurer Andrew Stebbing is facing felony charges in connection with private vehicle transactions Stebbing is accused of conducting.
Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson has filed five felony charges against Stebbing, two counts of making a false statement in a motor vehicle bill of sale, one count of acting as a motor vehicle dealer without a license and two counts of filing a false income tax return.
The charges stemmed from an investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol and Nebraska Department of Revenue.
All five felonies are punishable by two years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both. Stebbing voluntarily appeared at the Nebraska State Patrol offices to be cited on Thursday.
