Plans are on track to build the Nebraska MultiSport Complex near 120th and Giles in La Vista.
On Thursday, an interlocal board of directors selected J.E. Dunn Construction Company from Kansas City as the general contractor for the $125 million project.
Harold Cliff is the president of the complex and says the next step is negotiating a contract, but it's not known how soon that will take place.
Cliff says the first phase of the project should be completed in early 2018. That phase will include 11 outdoor soccer fields, a field house and performance center. Eventually there will six swimming pools, including one from the 2012 Olympic Swim Trials and tennis courts.
The complex also will offer lacrosse, field hockey, rugby, squash and pickleball in addition to having physical therapy, injury prevention, performance training and high-tech strength training facilities.
