Powerball Drawing Sends People Flocking To Buy Tickets

Wednesday's $700 million Powerball jackpot is the second largest in history and businesses that sell tickets are bracing for long lines as people dream about winning the grand prize.

TJ Weiss with AB's gas station in Dundee says the last time the grand prize was this big he had to bring in extra employees. "Pretty busy all the time, everybody buying lotteries. We had to have extra people come in that night, just to run the lottery machine while everybody else rang up the line."

Weiss says he expects to have extra employees on hand Wednesday to ring up customers who are dreaming big. "It has definitely increased our volume in the store. Almost everybody is buying lottery tickets right now. It's crazy in here."

Wednesday's grand prize is the second largest Powerball jackpot in history, and Weiss says customers tell him they have big plans if they win. "Most of the responses are, 'You'll never see me again,' cause they'll be gone and they won't work and they'll be on vacation forever."

Weiss says customers who normally buy just a few bucks worth of tickets spending over $30 on tickets ahead of Wednesday's drawing.
