A motorcyclist was critically injured after colliding with an SUV near 30th and Ida around 8:30 Friday night.
Omaha Police say a black 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling northbound on 30th Street and was turning left onto westbound Ida Street.
While turning, a blue 2009 Kawasaki EX500 motorcycle, which was traveling northbound in the southbound lane in a reckless manner, collided with the driver's side rear door of the Jeep.
Police say the motorcyclist, 27 year old Tyler Heger of Carter Lake, was not wearing a helmet and was transported to Nebraska Medicine to be treated for several internal and external injuries that are considered life-threatening.
The two female passengers in the Jeep were treated at the scene for minor lacerations from shattered glass.
The crash remains under investigation.
