Man Arrested After Using Facebook To Entice Child

Nebraska State Patrol investigators have arrested a man they say was attempting to have sex with a twelve year old girl.

Authorities say 44 year old Jeremy Doudney Sr., of Grand Island, was arrested Monday afternoon after having a sexual conversation with the girl through Facebook. They say she tried to end the conversation by telling Doudney that she was only twelve, but he persisted, prompting the girl to tell her parents.

The girl's parents alerted the Nebraska State Patrol, who then took over control of the girl's Facebook page. Investigators who work undercover on online crimes against children messaged the man, posing as the girl and were able to identify the man through pictures posted on his Facebook page.

Doudney continued sending sexual messages and eventually asked the investigator, who he thought was the girl, to meet him at Pier Park in Grand Island. The investigator, along with other law enforcement agency members, met with Doudney just after 2:00 Monday afternoon and put him under arrest.

Doudney is facing a charge of Enticement by Electronic Communication Device.

The Nebraska State Patrol is urging parents to check their children's Facebook accounts for any suspicious activity that could be linked to this case and report it immediately to Troop C Investigative Services in Grand Island at (308) 385-6000.
