If you plan on attending one of the three remaining concerts in August at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha you won't be alowed to bring most purses or handbags inside.
The restrictions were put in place for two concerts last weekend and were required by concert promoters. MECA CEO Roger Dixon says only "clutch-sized" purses and handbags measuring 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches will be allowed inside the arena for the upcoming Green Day (August 12), Coldplay (August 14) and Lady Gaga (August 19) concerts.
MECA CEO Roger Dixon says the restrictions are an effort "to ensure the safety of people attending our shows."
These policies are being put in place in concert and sporting venues across the country and Dixon anticipates formalizing a permanent policy after the summer concert season ends.
Dixon tells NewsRadio 1110 KFAB he anticipates implementing a clear bag policy for all concertgoers in the coming months.
