Omaha Public Schools is re-starting its search for a new superintendent. The school board voted on Monday to find a new search firm.
Board members fired their old search firm last month after the three finalists to become Omaha Public Schools' next superintendent removed themselves from consideration.
Current OPS Superintendent Mark Evans originally planned to retire at the end of the 2016-2017 school year, but agreed to stay with the district for another year while his replacement is recruited.
The board plans to have a new search firm hired this month, and hopes to have a new Superintendent selected by December.
