One of two men wanted for allegedly stealing property from vehicles west of Zorinski Lake on Sunday was arrested after he was found in a thorn bush near 192nd and F Street
The second man eluded capture and remains on the run. Douglas County authorities got a call around 8:15 a.m. to a neighborhood near 192nd and F where a man reportedly got out of a pickup truck, grabbed a purse from a car and took off.
The pickup was located about 10 minutes later. Both men got out of the truck and ran. Douglas County deputies and a Canine Unit teamed up with the Nebraska State Patrol and Omaha Police to set up a perimeter
The pair managed to get away until an NSP Trooper saw one of the men on the run. A trooper and an off-duty deputy caught up with him at 192nd and West Center Road in front of Lanoha Nurseries. That's where the suspect and the trooper tumbled into the thorns and the suspect was put in handcuffs. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Authorities say the suspect was carrying a concealed knife and was in possession of stolen property. The pickup truck, which was stolen, also had stolen property in it.
The man in custody is facing charges that include Possession of Stolen Property and a weapons charge. More charges could follow.
