Security Changes For This Weekend's Shows At CenturyLink

If you're planning on attending the Lady Antebellum or Shawn Mendes concerts at the CenturyLink Center this weekend be prepared to see some changes in security.

Fans attending the shows Friday and Saturday night will not be allowed to bring in most handbags or purses.

MECA spokesperson Doug Parrott says they will only allow small clutch sized bags. "They're pretty severely limiting what you can bring in from a handbag prospective. It's the promoters that have asked for this and it's becoming more common around the country, so it's really not a surprise."

Parrott says bags need to be no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, which is just a little bit bigger than a slice of sandwich bread. "Which is extremely small."

There will be staff posted outside of the CenturyLink Center to remind people on the day of the shows. "We'll have a lot of people out in the parking garages, in front of the building with signs, letting people know about this policy so they are aware of it ahead of time."

If anyone has questions about the handbag restrictions, call the CenturyLink Center at 402-341-1500.
