Man Dies Following South Omaha Shooting

A man has died following a shooting early Tuesday morning near 21st and Martha. Police were called to the scene just after 3:00 a.m. to investigate a report of shots fired. That was quickly upgraded to a shooting. 

At the scene police found 39 year old Aristeo Pena-Robles with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Pena-Robles was taken to the hospital in very critical condition and later died.

Police say there was a disturbance between several people that escalated into shots being fired.  

The suspected shooter, 34 year old Shawn Stewart has been booked on charges of Second Degree Murder, Use of a Gun to Commit a Felony, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
