Two lawsuits have been filed against the daycare La Petite Academy after a former employee was convicted and sentenced for the sexual assault of children. That employee, Mark Mays was sentenced last month to 20- 60 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 2 year old girl in his care while working at Little Hands Daycare.
It was during that legal process that Mays admitted that he also sexually assaulted young girls while employed at La Petite Academy. The two victims were just one year old at the time.
The lawsuit claims that La Petite Academy didn't do a proper background check prior to hiring Mays. Records show he worked at several other daycare or childcare centers since 2011 and was fired after crossing boundaries with children.
