Omaha Police Officer Struck By Thrown Bottle

An Omaha Police Officer is recovering after abeing struck in the face with a bottle while trying to break up a large crowd disturbance Sunday morning.

Officers were called to 25th and Taylor around 3:00 a.m.  As officers tried to disperse the crowd, an officer was struck in the face by a bottle.  It is believed that the officer sustained a facial fracture from the thrown bottle.

Officers witnessed a man throwing bottles at other officers and saw him ditch a handgun inside a vehicle. Officers apprehended 31-year-old Jeronn Garrison.  He was booked for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of an unregistered firearm, disorderly conduct and failure to disperse.
