Robbery Suspect Sticks Up Pharmacy With Pellet Gun

A Council Bluffs woman is behind bars after robbing a pharmacy at gunpoint Friday afternoon.

Council Bluffs Police say 42 year old Carrie Tripp is accused of robbing the Medicap Pharmacy near 22nd and West Broadway around noon.

Witnesses told police a woman in camouflage clothing came into the store and went to the pharmacy counter. They say she then pulled out a handgun, pointed it at an employee and demanded painkillers.

Police say the employee grabbed several pill bottles and handed them over to Tripp. She then fled the scene on foot, but didn't get very far before she was arrested just blocks from the store.

Officers were able to recover all of the stolen medication and the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet pistol.

Tripp was booked into Pottawattamie County Jail on charges of First Degree Theft and Third Degree Robbery.
